Fall Scones

Pumpkin spice chocolate chip scone (makes 8 big scones)
(ham and cheddar scones recipe below)

Ingredients: 
1 heaping cup of pumpkin
1 Egg, large
2 cups All-purpose flour
2 1/2 tsp Baking powder
1tbs Cinnamon, ground
1tbs pumpkin spice
1 tbs pumpkin spice or clove
1/2 cup Granulated sugar
1/2 tsp Salt
1 1/4 tsp Vanilla
Dairy
1/2 cup Butter, unsalted cold or frozen
1/2 cup Heavy cream

preheat oven to 400F (204C)
in large bowl whisk flour,sugar, baking powder,salt, cinnamon, nutmeg, pumpkin spice or cloves.
chop butter in small squares then take pastry cutter (or fork) till mix very well like in video.
Then add cream, egg, vanilla, pumpkin (canned or fresh) chocolate chips and mix well till its dough.

Pat dough out to the shape of a fat pizza crust then slice like a pizza separate to give them room to bake

Bake for 20-25 minutes until lightly golden brown remove from oven to cool
when cool drizzle glaze or powdered sugar

glaze: 1 cup confectioner's sugar, 3 tablespoon heavy cream or half and half 1/4 teaspoon vanilla Mix all and glaze is ready. 

There good for a few days then you can freeze the left overs for later enjoyed. 


Ham and cheddar scone (makes 8 big scones)
same as above with these changes....
buttermilk instead of heavy cream
add 2/3 cups corn meal with the 2 cups of flour
1 cup of shredded cheese if you get it out of a bag instead of shredding it our self you might need to use a tad less. I used a rich Wisconsin sharp cheddar and shredded my self. 
1cup of ham if its salty country ham you might want to leave out the salt it can become to much especially if your butter is salted to.
