I’ve been all around the world, but now it’s time to explore my backyard and take a walk through downtown Stanford, Kentucky. Not only are we going to explore a few places, but we’ll be doing it all in style thanks to my team: Morgan’s on Main Boutique, Paige Franklin Photography, and Abby Jones Makeup Artist. My hometown has grown since I left in 2009. Our city is flourishing with tons of downtown shops and places to eat and getaway. Stanford is loaded with local artists as well as history. In the photos below, you’ll be able to get a small glimpse into the beauty of downtown Stanford, Kentucky!

This beautiful spot is in a small park located behind the Old Mill and Depot near Main Street. It has a small playground and walking area. It’s perfect for families to spend their day, kids can play on the old Caboose, and is also close to our newly-built public library.

My look wouldn’t be complete without Abby Jones, a local makeup artist in Stanford. : For Laura's makeup we wanted to create an easy fall look that any woman could recreate on themselves with any fall outfit. I swept a brown shadow all over the eyelid and paired it with a festive burgundy lip and flushed cheeks. This makeup looks great on many skin tones and the dark lip is definitely a fall staple that will be sticking around!
*Tip: For a lip that lasts all day, look for a liquid lipstick with a matte finish
As mentioned before, there are several cute shops to pop in while you’re visiting. Pictured above is the famous Soaps and Such where all products are made from goat's’ milk from a local farm! One of my sister and I’s personal favorites is the Tea Tree Bar Soap, it works wonders on our sensitive skin! Another favorite is the lavender hand soap.

Baughman’s Mill is a beautiful building downtown. A local family has taken the time to begin restoring the building, so it’s an awesome spot to snap a cute photo.

The Stanford Railroad Depot is a historic train depot located in downtown Stanford, Kentucky. The original station was built in 1866, but the building standing now was rebuilt in 1911 and used by the Louisville and Nashville Railroad. Today it’s a community center and small museum you can use to host events. The grassy hill out back would be the perfect picnic area (but so are a lot of spots around town...this is one of my favorites!).

The photo above was snapped in front of a downtown historical home. Main Street is lined with beautiful historical homes that have been kept in beautiful condition. It makes for a beautiful walk on a sunny day.
